About Scott’s family…

M.P. Scott with his family at his official Swearing-In as Member of Parliament for Avalon.

Scott’s family roots begin in Wesleyville, Bonavista Bay in 1926, where his father Harry Andrews (deceased) grew up in a family of nine. Harry worked as Manager of the Fisherman Union Store (FPU) before going to work with the Workers Compensation Board (now the Work Place Health and Safety Commission) for some 35 years. Harry married Erma Dawe from the historic community of Cupids in Conception Bay. Erma was the daughter of post master Sam Dawe.

Growing up Scott learned life lessons form his older sisters Gail and Sharon. Gail, his oldest sister and husband Ed Zwicker, now live and work in St. John’s for the Eastern School District. They have two children Matthew and Laura. Also in the teaching profession and living in St. John’s, sister Sharon and husband Paul Moores, they have two children, Paul and Katie.

After high school Scott attended Memorial University of Newfoundland where he worked full time while attending university. He worked his way through university with the support of his parents, and acquired Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Business Administration with Certificates in Newfoundland Studies and Public Administration.

Scott met his wife Susan Mosher through their shared love of sports, in particular volleyball. Susan’s parents Karen and Terry, originally from Corner Brook, have called Chamberlains in Conception Bay South their home for more than 30 years now. Susan, herself from a family of three, has two younger siblings, Sarah and Evan.

Scott and Susan were married in 2002 and they call Kelligrews, Conception Bay South home. They were blessed in 2011 with the birth of their son, Malcolm. Scott has been very active in the community, and in 2005 was elected to the Conception Bay South Town Council with the highest number of votes ever received by a councillor.
