SCOTT ANDREWS, MP

Avalon

M.P. Scott with his wife Susan and dog, Dory.

Scott, with his wife Susan Mosher, is a resident of Foxtrap, Conception Bay South. Scott is a Memorial University graduate and has studied in the areas of Political Science, Business, Public Administration and Newfoundland Studies.

Scott has worked within various Government departments for the last 12 years. Between his educational training and practical experience, he has gained great knowledge spanning a variety of areas well suited to help with the workings and issues within the Riding of Avalon. Scott has also worked as the Executive Director of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador.

An advocate for community involvement, Scott has spent time coaching and volunteering with such groups as the Eastern Riders Snowmobile Association, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards program and Topsail United Church. He also has served on the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer Advisory Committee.

Scott is a great communicator and understands how to work with people to get the job done. He served as Councillor at Large on the Conception Bay South Town Council after receiving the highest number of votes a municipal Councillor has garnered in the town’s history.

In October 2008, he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Avalon and was appointed to the Fisheries and Oceans and Veterans Affairs Committees, as well as the Liberal Party’s Provincial Liaison Committee.

Scott is outspoken and works hard to ensure that the concerns of residents are addressed. As the Liberal Member of Parliament, Scott stands up for Newfoundland and Labrador first and is a strong representative for his constituents.
