Our Riding

Map

The Riding of Avalon encompasses a large geographical area that is abundant in history and tradition, and has some of the most scenic areas in Newfoundland and Labrador. Regional economies in the Riding are supported by the fishery, service sector, small business, tourism and heritage, offshore oil and gas and a new metal processing plant being constructed at Long Harbour, Placentia Bay.

The Riding is bounded in the north by the community of Bay De Verde and in the south by St. Shotts and Point Lance. The Riding of Avalon extends to the west as far as Come by Chance, and to the east to include communities along the Southern Shore. The Riding encompasses communities around Trinity Bay, Placentia Bay, St. Mary’s Bay, Trepassey Bay and Conception Bay.

M.P. Scott strives to work with the many community groups and municipal governments throughout the Riding to make communities and the whole Riding of Avalon a better place for everyone to live and work.
